Myth Blaster – Letter to the Orange Country Register

Joan B., Illinois received this e-mail that states the following:

My wife, Rosemary, wrote a wonderful letter to the editor of the Orange County Register which, of course, was not printed. So I decided to “print” it myself by sending it out on the Internet. Please pass it along if you feel so inclined. Thank you.

Light Side of Lighthouse – How to Receive Quicker Emergency Room Care

Joan B., Illinois sent an e-mail with advice:

The other day, I needed to go to the emergency room. Not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I put on my old Army fatigues and stuck on a patch that I had downloaded off the Internet onto the front of my shirt. When I went into the E.R., I noticed that three-fourths of the people got up and left. I guess they decided that they weren’t sick after all. Here’s the patch [below]. Feel free to use it the next time you’re in need of quicker emergency service.

Debra Saunders Writes About Steve Irwin

For those worldwide fans of Steve Irwin, Debra J. Saunders, writes her opinion of Irwin:
Now you know why Aussie crocodile aficionado Steve Irwin called the new TV show he was working on ‘The Ocean’s Deadliest.’ …With Irwin gone, the world will see a little less swagger. Irwin’s enthusiasm was infectious and his love for animals was apparent. You have to admire a man who, trained as a diesel mechanic, parlayed his passion for reptiles into worldwide fame and fortune. Now he leaves behind a wife and two young children, as well as an admirable legacy of donating millions to wildlife conservation. Australian Prime Minister John Howard called Irwin’s death ‘ a huge loss to Australia’ and offered to hold a state funeral – which Irwin’s family humbly declined. …Many Australians, however could not stand Irwin. As ex-patriot Germaine Greer wrote in the Guardian, ‘The animal world has finally taken its revenge on Irwin.

Well, he was a favorite among Americans and, I for one, will miss him.

A Crime Wave that Mainstream Media and Left Do Not Address

Theres a crime wave happening, unfortunately it isnt being focused upon by the mainstream media. Why? Because it has to do with illegal immigrants.
[WND]

Two more cases of gang rapes by illegal aliens are being quietly adjudicated in Wisconsin and California, as activists and social scientists say the crime wave needs greater attention and national debate.

American taxpayers pay for illegal immigrants collecting welfare and other programs earmarked for American citizens, and now they must pay for those incarcerated who have committed crimes in the United States after arriving here uninvited.

Snippets – America’s Political Scene – September 2006

Communism in America? Maybe McCarthy was right after all

  • Thomas Sowell One of the bitter ironies of the 20th century was that communism, which began as an egalitarian doctrine accusing capitalism of selfishness and calloused sacrifices of others, became in power a system whose selfishness and callousness toward others made the sins of capitalism pale. …Soviet communism is now history but people who talk equality and practice elitism, who wrap their own selfishness in the mantle of idealism, and who sacrifice others on the altar to their own vision without a moment’s hesitation are not only still with us but have become the norm on the left. …The green ideology of today, like the red ideology of the past, takes it for granted that other people do not have the same rights as the new nomenklatura. …Monterey County, California, is a classic example, though by no means unique. Thoughts on the Upcoming Congressional Elections

When I voted for members of the Senate in the last congressional election, I expected reform concerning spending, taxation and legislation, focus on national security issues. and the movement for a more limited government that is less intrusive and one that helps the economy, not hinders it.

I have put together a list of what I feel must be done to reach those goals that the conservative party promised in 1994 and the Democrat Party has completely forgotten: Read more »
