  • J. Peter Pham, Ph.D. - West Africa and the Coming Naval Battle in al-Qaeda’s Economic War against America: “America won the Cold War against the Soviet Union by out performing not only on the military front, but also on the economic front. Osama bin Laden has revealed his goal to be the economic death of the United States.”
  • Tashbih Sayyed, Ph.D.Short-term Strategy not the answer to War on Terror: “Why is anti-Americanism so pervasive? Islamofascism has taken root across the globe as the West scrambles to catch up in a war it took thirty years to understand they were fighting.”
  • Douglas MacKinnonWanted: White Criminals Only … “In the make believe land of movies, television and commercials, if there is a heinous crime to be committed, 99.9% of the time, it’s now going to be done by a white guy. In fact, it has to be done by a white guy. Political correctness and the fear of offending, or worse yet, getting sued or picketed, is such, that you will no longer see blacks, Hispanics, most minorities, or even women for that matter commit a fictional crime.”
  • James J. KilpatrickFlaunting the First Amendment … “A long time ago, in a place far away, a free-spirited schoolboy attempted to exercise his rights of free speech. Informed that he had none, and rudely rebuffed for his effort, the impetuous lad grew up to become a newspaperman. Four years ago, in a different place far away, another smart-aleck also stood upon his First Amendment rights. He had better luck, and now he’s in the U.S. Supreme Court, ready to defend his glorious victory against a formidable foe.”
  • Marvin OlaskyCompassionate Conservatism: Still Kicking … “This year, as Washington’s spending spree has continued, several conservative pundits have sat in air-conditioned offices and written about the death of compassionate conservatism, which they say has become a euphemism for big government spending.”
  • George Will The Liberals Have it all Wrong … “The media household income of Wal-Mart shoppers is under $40,000. Wal-Mart, the most prodigious job-creator in the history of the private sector in this galaxy, has almost as many employees (1.3 million) as the U.S. military has uniformed personnel. … People who buy their groceries from Wal-Mart – it has one-fifth of the nation’s grocery business – save at least 17 percent. But because unions are strong in many grocery stores trying to compete with Wal-Mart, unions are yanking on the Democratic Party’s leash, demanding laws to force Wal-Mart to pay wages and benefits higher than those that already are high enough to attract 77 times more applicants than there were jobs at this store. … Liberals think their campaign against Wal-Mart is a way of introducing the subject of class into America’s political argument, and they are more correct than they understand. Their campaign is liberalism as condescension. It is a philosophic repugnance toward markets because consumer sovereignty results in the masses making messes. Liberals, aghast, see the choices Americans make with their dollars and their ballots, and announce – yes, announce – that Americans are sorely in need of more supervision by … liberals. … What is the focus of evil in the modern world? North Korea? The Bush administration? Fox News Channel? No, it is Coca-Cola (number of servings to Americans of the company’s products each week: 2.5 billion). When liberals’ presidential nominees consistently fail to carry Kansas, liberals do not rush to read a book titled ‘What’s the Matter with Liberals’ Nominees?’ No, the book they turned into a best seller is titled ‘What’s the Matter with Kansas?’ Notice a pattern here?”
  • Matt ToweryThe Democrats: Passion without a Plan … “Last week, an interview about the midterm congressional elections ended by asking me yes or no: ‘Will the Democrats take control of the House of Representatives in Washington this coming election?’ I said yes, but that was without having had my first cup of coffee. I later reconsidered my answer. … If they win, the new House speaker would be Nancy Pelosi of California. I once interviewed her for a book I was writing about women’s rise to prominence … She was dynamic and personable, and remains so. She seems to know where she was headed. … She was right and proved it herself, and that’s great. The problem is that she represents a California congressional district that’s as liberal as they come, including on issues of national and international scope. … When the Democrats’ best pitch less than two months before the election is whether the president’s 9/11 commemoration speech was ‘too political’, it starts to dawn on you that the minority party has a goal, but no plan to attain it. …”

In parting from these snippets, I refer to Mr Conservative, Senator Barry Goldwater, who said: “Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.”
