  • The insanity of laws sometimes is exasperating. Record and Recording companies, as well as the performers, et cetera has been losing money because of piracy – and this should not be allowed. However, the feds have gone a step further and claim that is illegal to purchase a music CD and then upload into one’s personal computer to listen to it from that media. This means that folks with memory sticks and iPods, et cetera cannot load from purchased CDs and listen to their favorite songs from a purchased album on portable music media as well as in their automobiles? Ridiculous. According to a Washington Post article, in the federal case against Jeffrey Howell, Scottsdale, Arizona, was charged stating that he kept his collection of purchased CDs amounting to about 2,000 music recordings on his personal computer.
