The Iron Lady – Tribute to Lady Margaret Hilda Thatcher

margaret-thatcher-03 Margaret Hilda Roberts (Thatcher) was born on October 13th, 1925 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. Her father, owner of two grocery stores was active in local politics and the local Methodist Church as an Alderman and lay preacher. Her father was from a liberal family, but in local government he was independent. Margaret was brought up as a Methodist and remained a Christian throughout her life. She is a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She is the first and to date only woman to hold either post.
