Myth Blaster: Obama’s Revenge by Joan Swirsky

Donald E. Farr sent me this entry in today’s edition of Myth Blaster entitled Obama’s Revenge. This email is circulating around and has an author’s name attached for a change. …

obama_contemptOnce upon a time, a white teenager from Kansas got pregnant by her black Kenyan boyfriend, Barack Obama Sr., or was it her husband? Whatever. (I say whatever because we’ve never seen either marriage or divorce certificates). Some say the couple was in Kenya visiting relatives when the birth of their son, Barack Obama Jr., occurred. No matter. (I say no matter because we’ve never seen an authentic birth certificate). By the time the baby was two years old his father abandoned him for his other wife and child in Kenya. …
It didn’t take long for Barry’s mother to meet and marry an Indonesian native named Lolo Soetoro. They moved to Indonesia, where her child became Barry Soetoro, took on Indonesian citizenship, and was presumably schooled in public, Christian, and Muslim schools. (I say presumably because we’ve never seen those school records). But when Barry was 10 years old, his mother sent him back to the U.S. to be raised by her parents, Madelyn and Stanley Dunham, although she kept her baby daughter Maya Soetoro with her.
I wonder how the by-now fully-sentient young Barry felt when his mother sent him packing? Sad? Jealous of the baby who remained behind with mommy? … What did Barry do with those feelings?
FrankMarshallDavisBy the time he was 10, the boy had been abandoned three times – by his father, his stepfather, and his mother. And although he was raised by his white grandparents in Hawaii – where “people of color” were not his color – he found out soon enough that his mixed-race background rendered him, in effect, an outsider. …
But he wasn’t altogether an outsider. In Hawaii, young Barry met Frank Marshall Davis, his first and perhaps most influential mentor. The infamous Marshall, a Communist activist (and self-confessed pedophile) taught Barry – was it Obama, Soetoro, Dunham? – that white people were the devil incarnate and that blacks were the most “victimized” people on earth.
Yet the abandoned and rejected child was lucky. His white-devil grandparents gave him a comfortable life in Hawaii, and an education that apparently qualified him to attend several prestigious schools – Occidental College in CA, Columbia Univ. in NY City, and Harvard Law School in Cambridge, MA (I say apparently qualified because we’ve never seen any of his college transcripts).

After his undergraduate days at Columbia, Obama chose not to go to graduate school, but instead held various jobs in the Big Apple and then moved to Chicago to become a community organizer. Although he had been exposed to American exceptionalism through his life in the United States and his privileged education, it is clear that his exposure to Marshall and the other radicals he had met during his years in New York – among them the unrepented domestic terrorists William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn of Weather Underground infamy – made the deepest and most lasting impressions.
Their messages of American imperialism and its white-devil culture clearly resonated in the thrice-abandoned boy. In his young-adult and adult years, free to choose his friends and pursuits, he opted exclusively for far-left socialists and Marxists, and activities aimed at relieving the suffering of people he perceived to be as victimized as apparently he felt he had been. He understood their feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, and impotent rage, as well as the pain of fatherlessness. After all, his Harvard-educated father consciously chose to leave him. And his mother gave him away. Was that depressing to Barry? Infuriating?
When the opportunity to join one of dozens of churches in Chicago, Barry – who had morphed into Barack – opted for the Trinity United Church of Christ, which was led by the fire-breathing Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose decades-long anti-American and anti-Semitic rants apparently resonated in Obama’s rejected and abandoned heart and soul. (I say apparently resonated because in over 20 years of regular attendance, Obama said he heard nothing inflammatory or anti-American, and we’ve never seen the videotapes of any sermon, although each one was unfailingly recorded).
God damn America,” Wright raged. “The chickens have come home to roost,” he “preached” to his whooping and hollering congregation after 9/11. Obama heard nothing.
But it wasn’t only Wright who Obama was attracted to in Chicago. He was also drawn to another hate-spewing radical, Rev. Louis Farrakhan, as well as to the raving Father Michael Pfleger, the radical Islamist Rashid Khalidi, his friends and neighbors the Ayers, and to equally-close friends “Tony” and Rita Rezko – Tony being the notorious “fixer” and now-convicted-and-imprisoned felon for fraud, bribery, and money laundering. What did the seemingly mild-mannered Obama find so irresistible in these angry and/or crooked people and others like them? …
In these relationships and in community organizing – which offers inner-city mostly black residents job training, tutoring, and methods to organize tenants’-rights groups and voter-registration drives, etc. – the twenty-something Obama apparently found his calling, and also a renewed and burning ambition.
While his community-organizing job paid a paltry $12,000 or so per year, Obama somehow managed to pay his way through one of the priciest graduate schools in the world. Harvard Law School. (( say somehow managed because we have no record of his tuition payments). Even more amazing, he became the first black president of the Harvard Law Review without ever producing a written paper – or at least a paper that the public has ever read.
There is a good deal of evidence that Obama’s acceptance at Harvard Law – and his tuition – were facilitated by friends who had a vested interest in the community organizer. Among them was Percy Sutton, a former Manhattan borough president and ardent leftist, who was also Malcolm X’s lawyer. In an interview last year, the octogenarian Sutton stated: “I was introduced to [Obama] by a friend. The friend’s name was Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, and the introduction took place about 20 years ago.” Sutton described al-Mansour as “the principle adviser to one of the world’s richest men” and suggested that al-Mansour asked him if he would write a letter to Harvard recommending Obama, which Sutton did most agreeably. This took place about 1988 when 27-year-old Obama was applying to Harvard Law.
Journalist Jack Cashill has credibly speculated that Obama’s two memoirs were actually written by his pal Bill Ayers, who was and is a University of Illinois at Chicago English professor, having escaped life in prison on a technicality. Two years [after he was admitted to law school], Cashill writes, “while still a law student, Obama improbably received an advance to write a memoir that would be called ‘Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance,’ which was published in 1995.” His second memoir, published in 2006, was “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream.” (I suspect Cashill said “improbably received an advance” because, as stated earlier, Obama has not produced even one paper or distinguished himself in any way to have inspired a major publishing company to approach him).
And this begs the question: Who writes two memoirs about himself before the age of 45? My own speculation is that it could be no one but a narcissist. … A lot of people have some degree of narcissism, which is characterized by grandiosity, an unquenchable need for admiration, unhealthy self-absorption, dependence on the affirmation of others, and also a lack of empathy, which is hidden by both personal charm and the kind of earnest language that pretends to “feel your pain.”
Or he could be a malignant narcissist, which psychiatrist Dr. Otto Kernberg, a legendary leader in thought disorders, compares to a narcissist on steroids. This variety involves paranoid traits (think of Obama’s thin-skinned, quasi-hysterical reactions to Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin), and ego-syntonic aggression, which means the person is perfectly in-sync with people who have the courage he lacks to lash out.
But consider the source! Obama’s father was a self-aggrandizing narcissist who thought nothing of throwing his son away to fulfill his own ambitions and his mother also threw him away for the same reason. …
This leads me to only one conclusion, which I wrote about in a former article: “Obama The Trojan Horse.” My theory is that President Obama’s narcissistic charm, even temperament, skill with words (teleprompter included), hunger to please, radical agenda, and subterranean rage at the “unfair” American system have been brilliantly exploited by powerful leftist radicals and Marxists in the United States, who for decades have plotted America’s path to socialism. He is their pawn, totally dispensable but handy while the “aura” lasts.
These “handlers” saw in Obama the ideal blank slate on which to actualize their agenda, and they made sure the slate remained blank by concealing (or destroying) any evidence of his past, including his birth certificate. Selective Service record, visa(s), school transcripts, and other vital documents. All of which is costing his moneyed backers – including America-loathing billionaire George Soros – multimillions in lawyers’ fees to fight the proliferating lawsuits that seek the truth about this stealth president.
In fact, former ambassador Alan Keyes, one of the many plaintiffs seeking proof of Obama’s American citizenship, has reported that Obama’s lawyers have now filed a motion to quash our effort to obtain the relevant documents … [which] confirms Obama’s ruthless determination to destroy anyone who continues to seek the information the Constitution requires. Obama thus signals his intent to bring financial ruin on those who won’t accept his cover-up of the circumstances of his birth is a tactical escalation. It confirms the common sense suspicion that he won’t act forthrightly in this matter because he has something to hide.”
It is clear that Obama and his fellow radicals are restive. In the less-than four weeks of his presidency, the new president has taken volumes from the Marxian handbook, which dictates that the stupid masses be blitzed with an overload of information, hollow press conferences, appointments, dismantling of formerly effective national-security programs, et al., in order to set the stage for a massive, Soviet-style takeover of our government, including a civilian national security force that Obama has said should be “just as powerful, strong and well-funded as the U.S. military.” Echoes of Nazi Germany in 1938, anyone?
According to writer Kyle-Anne Shrive, in Obama’s ascendance:
“We have yet to see a more perfect collision of Murphy’s law with the Peter Principle. In only three weeks time [he] has signaled to every terrorist on the planet that we are a sorry, groveling, ashamed nation ready to come to the diplomatic confessional. He is closing Gitmo within one year, has suspended trials there, and dismissed the charges against the U.S.S. Cole plotter. [He] has just put our money where his mouth is and is using $20.3 million to bring in Palestinian refugees from Gaza … [he] had the gall to pronounce the so-called economic stimulus bill absolutely free of ‘earmarks’ and ‘make-do work’ … but according to the Congressional Budget Office [this bill] will do worse to our overall economy than no government action whatsoever.”
And Obama has done all this with the predictable double-speak that characterizes malevolent intention, i.e., touting transparency while concealing everything, speaking of integrity while appointing crooks and incompetents riddled with conflicts-of-interest, supporting energy independence while killing off-shore and domestic oil-drilling and nuclear power, and feigning optimism while he speaks of impending “catastrophe” in order to push through a pork-laden, trillion-dollar-plus Stimulus plan that rewards the corrupt voter-fraud organization ACORN with billions and unions with discriminatory union-only labor agreements, paves the way for socialized medicine, and threatens to take away the most cherished rights of We The People.
As blogger Eric Gurr has said: “We still talk about the health care crisis, the environmental crisis, the oil crisis, the banking crisis. Let me tell you my friends you are about to learn the meaning of the only crisis that matters, the survival crisis.”
You can be sure that the sad-lonely-angry two-year-old, the jealous –confused-resentful 10-year-old, the self-conscious-cheated-victimized adolescent, and the man who found solace in and identified with his hate-America mentors is now determined to redeem all of his demons.
Unfortunately, he is acting out his rage on free-market capitalism, a free press, property and gun rights, a limited constitutional government, protection of the unborn, and everything else that is good and great about our country.
This is Obama’s revenge!

Myth Blaster Verdict:

TRUE. Facts in the sense that Joan Swirksy wrote this article and that most of its content is based upon reliable information concerning Obama’s association, records and character. This article was published at Canada Free Press, February 15th, 2009 by the journalist and author – Joan Swirsky. The only questionable part would be the claim that Marshall Davis was a pediophile just because he wrote a pornographic novel that depicted a character of a 13-year-old who performed sexual acts, but on researching he did admit that the people and incidents were based on truth, as explained below.

Joan Swirsky has received seven Long Island Press Awards in which she wrote about health, science, and featured articles for The New York Times Long Island section for over 20 years. She is formerly an obstetrical nurse and Lamaze teacher, and a practicing psychotherapist, thus the detailed and accurate analysis of Barack Obama’s character and childhood background – combined to make a psychological profile that others have discussed and presenting question on the several missing blanks in Barack “Barry” Obama’s life BEFORE Election Day 2008. The American voter ignored it because they were too intent upon believing his diatribe of the wonderful world with Barack Obama as president. After all, the voters couldn’t miss an opportunity to have the first African American for president, could they? Totally disregarding the facts presented of his associations, past and present, and his questionable birth records and other records never produced for the public. What other candidate could get away with that. If the American voter wanted the first African American president, why did they ignore the candidate with character, sincerity and determination to make true reform – Alan Keyes? The media and others stated that Alan Keyes had no political experience and only held an ambassador position in government. Yet the community organizer who was a senator for a short period of time by the time he chose to run or his handlers chose him to run for President of the United States from 2008 to 2012. Based upon his associations and affiliation alone, he would have never passed a security clearance background check – if he hadn’t had powerful handlers to prevent the disclosure from being taken seriously.

Ms. Swirsky has the background of the 44th President of the United States fairly correct, except for a particular entry that is not concrete but certainly points to one of his mentors being a communist and a pediophile, however the lack of Obama’s response with proof during his campaign and choosing to ignore it makes it even more suspicious, except for a couple of rebuttals provided by the campaign committee. Here are my counterpoint concerning a portion of this article dissiminated via chain email …

Joan Swirsky wrote:

In Hawaii, young Barry met Frank Marshall Davis, his first and perhaps most influential mentor. The infamous Marshall, a Communist activist (and self-confessed pedophile) taught Barry … that white people were the devil incarnate and that blacks were the most “victimized” people on earth.

In the 1930s to the 1950s, underground communist movement in America was real, focusing on people disillusioned and jobless, mingling with trade and union labor movements and organizations. Mr. Davis worked for the American Negro Press and had associates who were pro-communist or pro-socialist during this period like Paul Robeson. After Mr. Davis moved to Hawaii in 1948, he wrote a weekly column for the Honolulu Record that was published by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. In 1950 the House Un-American Activities Committee accused Davis of involvement in several communist-front organizations. While in Atlanta he became involved in black activism and was managing editor of the first African American daily newspaper called the Atlanta Daily World in 1931, as Wikipedia entry points out:

In the pages of the paper, Davis articulated an agenda of social realism, which included appeals for racial justice in politics and economics, as well as legal justice. He championed black activism, especially to compensate for social ills not remedied by the larger white society. He warned against blacks accepting Depression-era remedies being pushed by communists. He continued to write and publish poems … In 1935, Davis moved back to Chicago to take the position of managing editor of the Associated Negro Press, a news service for black newspapers, which had begun in 1919. … During the Depression, Davis participated in the federal Works Progress Administration Writers’ Project. … While in Chicago, Davis also started a photography club, worked for numerous political parties, and participated in the League of American Writers.

Mr. Davis was a community organizer in Chicago and started a Chicago labor newspaper, The Star, around the end of World War II. In 1946, married a second wife in Chicago – a white socialite and two years later he, and wife Helen, moved to Hawaii at the suggestion of a friend Paul Robeson. Mr. Davis operated a small wholesale paper business called Oahu Papers that mysteriously burned to the ground in March of 1951. He started another firm called the Paradise Paper Company and wrote a weekly column for the Honolulu Record that was published by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union headed by Harry Bridges. During this period Mr. Davis wrote about the working class, cultural issues and political issues focusing upon racism. He also wrote a history of blues and jazz. How could a man marry a white woman and be a black racist? Of course, they divorced in 1970

In Barack Obama’s Dreams from My Father he wrote about a friend named Frank whom he met in Hawaii and found that his maternal grandfather and Mr. Davis had grown up only 50 miles apart near Wichita, Kansas. Barack described the way race relations were in the days of his youth in Hawaii discussing race relations that included Jim Crow and that Frank had stated that little progress had been made. Obama wrote:

It made me smile, thinking back on Frank and his old Black Power, dashiki self. In some ways he was as incurable as my mother, as certain in his faith, living in the same sixties time warp that Hawaii had created.

Gerald Home, editor of Political Affairs magazine claimed that Mr. Davis was a decisive influence in helping find his present identity as an African-American. The true relationship with the person he called Frank, the Mr. Davis who was a columnist, an activist, an author, poet and writer of pornography has been disputed and unclear. This is addressed in a book entitled The Obama Nation, in which a rebuttal by the Obama presidential campaign committee wrote entitled Unfit for Publication.

Lisa Derrick wrote in an article published by Huffington Post:

To reference Miller again, his Tropic of Cancer was certainly pornoliciously autobiographical-or at least written in the first person, a standard literary device-and was banned in the United States for its adult language and situations. But how truthful, or rather factual, is that literary classic? We shan’t ever really know, in the same way to speculate how much fact or fantasy went into Davis’ Sex Rebel: Black is purely that-speculation.

And in an autobiographical manuscript that was discovered after Mr. Davis’ death is where the admission of the mentor of Barack Obama confessed to pediophile experiences that became part of one of his books, Sex Rebel: Black.

Derrick quoted Davis:

I could not then truthfully deny that this book, which came out in 1968 as a Greenleaf Classic, was mine,” Davis wrote. In the introduction to Sex Rebel: Black, Davis (writing as Greene) explains that although he has “changed names and identities… all incidents I have described have been taken from actual experiences.”

This is where Ms. Swirsky got her information that Davis was a self-confessed pediophile. Of course the leftist Derrick downplays the confession.

Other than those counterpoints, the truth of the Marxist/socialist radicals he associated with and who supported his efforts as community organizer, senator and then running for president is truth. Despite what Obama groupies believe – association does matter. It mattered to the political left who Sarah Palin, McCain and GW Bush associated with, so what makes Barack Obama special? And besides, the Obama administration policies and activism match the allegations.

  1. “In Hawaii, young Barry met Frank Marshall Davis, his first and perhaps most influential mentor. The infamous Marshall, a Communist activist (and self-confessed pedophile) taught Barry – was it Obama, Soetoro, Dunham? – that white people were the devil incarnate and that blacks were the most “victimized” people on earth.”

    Untrue in all respects:

    - Davis was not Obama’s mentor.
    - He is not a “self-confessed pedophile.”
    - He never taught Obama “that white people were the devil incarnate and that blacks were the most “victimized” people on earth.” I challenge you to produce any primary source document to substantiate this accusation.

Although Obama’s book indicates “Frank” offered him advice on racial issues, Obama wrote that Davis “fell short” and his views were “incurable.” Obama did not even visit Davis for three years before going to college. Obama’s book, itself, proves that Obama did not consider Davis to be a “wise and trusted counselor,” which is the definition of “mentor.” But what creative definition can Davis be considered his “mentor”?

Calling Davis a pedophile based on his novel makes no more sense than calling David Letterman a pedophile based on his joke. Both lies are widespread in the right-wing blogosphere, and reflect the pinnacle of intellectual dishonesty. Both deliberately misrepresent the core values of artists by spreading falsehoods that gullible readers (i.e., “useful idiots”) accept as truth, and who then propagate further in good faith.

The pornography disinformation against Frank Marshall Davis is just as heinous as the political disinformation. At a minimum, it indicates a cognitive disorder manifested by an inability to distinguish fact from fiction, in the manner of soap opera fans who blame actors for their characters’ misdeeds. Further, it suggests that those making such false accusations may be projecting their own libidinous psychological disorders onto Davis.

There are at least four disclaimers that indemnify Frank Marshall Davis from literal attribution of this novel:

    a. All memoir-novels (see http://www.answers.com/topic/memoir-novel-1), whether pornographic (e.g., John Cleland’s “Fanny Hill”), satirical (e.g., Jonathan Swift’s “Gulliver’s Travels”), or other genre (e.g., Daniel Defoe’s “Moll Flanders”), are allegedly true but nevertheless fiction. The fictional authors of memoir-novels, such as “Bob Greene,” claim that such incidents actually occurred although they, too, are fictional. In a broader sense, ALL first-person narrative novels (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-person_narrative), such as Mark Twain’s “Huckleberry Finn,” claim authenticity despite obviously being fiction. To claim that some memoir-novels are literally true (if convenient for one’s political agenda), while acknowledging that other memoir-novels are truly fiction, is intellectual dishonesty.

    b. Scandalous memoirs such as “Sex Rebel: Black (Memoirs of a Gash Gourmet)” have been a literary genre for centuries. According to Wikipedia, such scandalous memoirs are allegedly factual, but are largely invented. The title, alone, qualifies it as a “scandalous memoir.” It is the epitome of dishonesty to claim, without empirical evidence, that fictional characters’ experiences actually occurred in their author’s real life .

    c. The fictional character Bob Greene, not author Frank Marshall Davis, “changed names and identities” of other characters. According to dictionary.com, “identity” means “condition or character as to who a person or what a thing is: a case of mistaken identity.” Changing name AND identities means changing names AND other “condition or character as to who a person or what a thing is,” which may include biographical data such as age. Further, “taken from actual experiences” does not mean they are accurate representations of any experiences.

    d. Edgar Tidwell, the expert on the life and writing of Frank Marshall Davis, says the book is “semiautobiographical,” which (according to dictionary.com) means “1. pertaining to or being a fictionalized account of an author’s own life. 2. pertaining to or being a work of fiction strongly influenced by events in an author’s life.” “Sex Rebel: Black” is therefore a fictionalized account of events in Davis’s life.

In an honest evaluation, any of these disclaimers should protect the author from literal interpretation. The combination of all four should provide absolute protection from any culpability. Unfortunately, Davis’s accusers are dishonest. Like Mike Nifong, the disgraced ex-D.A. in the Duke lacrosse case, their campaign to demonize their target ignores exculpatory evidence in their reckless rush to judgment. In order to smear Barack Obama through guilt-by-association with Frank Marshall Davis, they are virtually lynching Davis by grossly misrepresenting his character and influence. Such misrepresentation may be symptomatic of the accuser’s own psychological disorder, indicated by projection of the accuser’s own pedophilic fantasies onto the author.

In “Sex Rebel,” Davis’s Bob Greene (not unlike Nabokov’s Humbert Humbert) hesitates at a pubescent girl’s sexual invitation, but foolishly relents. Like “Lolita,” this faux foreword is written by a Ph.D impersonator who details the psychological significance of the memoir. Like Nabokov, Davis wanted to write under a pseudonym to shield his reputation, but felt compelled to reveal his authorship. As a result, however, Davis has been posthumously accused of pedophilia, while “Lolita” is “considered by many to be one of the finest novels written in the 20th century.” In 1998, it was named the fourth greatest English language novels of the 20th century by the Modern Library,” despite also being initially dismissed as pornography, according to Wikipedia.

This deliberate misrepresentation is only the latest in a long series of falsehoods by AIM professional prevaricators. Their “specific misrepresentation” is documented at http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/Kaleokualoha/gGxdvX . I invite any person of integrity to refute my evidence against any of these AIM lies. If AIM had authentic evidence of Davis’s radical influence, they would not need to fabricate such evidence.

For objective articles on this issue, please see http://wxxxnews.blogspot.com/2008/10/sex-rebel-black.html and http://iamthelizardqueen.wordpress.com/2008/10/14/the-national-enquirer-wingnuttery-and-autobiographies/#comment-5904

Although he wrote a pornographic memoir-novel (see http://www.answers.com/topic/memoir-novel-1), ALL such “memoirs,” whether pornographic (e.g., John Cleland’s “Fanny Hill”), satirical (e.g., Jonathan Swift’s “Gulliver’s Travels”), or other genre (e.g., Daniel Defoe’s “Moll Flanders”), are allegedly true but nevertheless fiction. The fictional author of memoir-novels, such as “Bob Greene,” claim that such incidents actually occurred although they, too, are fictional. In a broader sense, ALL first-person narrative novels (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-person_narrative), such as Mark Twain’s “Huckleberry Finn,” claim authenticity despite obviously being fiction. It is the epitome of dishonesty to claim, for the purpose of smearing an author’s reputation, that the alleged experiences of memoir-novel characters actually occurred in their author’s real life.

If critics honestly examine primary source evidence, rather than relying on the flagrant falsehoods of Freddoso, Kincaid, Corsi, and their colleagues, they would recognize the depth of their deception. They will find that through innuendo, half-truths and outright fabrication, Obama’s opponents have deliberately misrepresented a casual family friendship as sordid political indoctrination sessions or worse. In their fervor to malign Obama, his opponents sought to transform the legacy of a relatively obscure leftist poet into a “Stalinist agent” who corrupted Obama’s values. Slander and libel were their tools of their deception, because truth was no obstacle. Destroying Davis’s reputation was collateral damage. “After all,” they probably thought, “who would care enough to defend an obscure black poet who passed away years ago?” With such character traits, one could easily envision them pulling wings off flies as children.

The author has now joined this disinformation campaign, which campaign created a fantasy world by misrepresenting “Frank” as a virtual Dr. Frank-enstein who created a Marxist Obama, just as Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code” created a fantasy world by misrepresenting the Roman Catholic Church. At least Dan Brown labeled his fantasy world as “fiction,” whereas the truth would undermine THIS disinformation campaign. In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “Truth is generally the best vindication against slander.”

  2. Mark:
Thanks for taking the time to visit and share your thoughts. Your commentary should be an example for rebuttals. However …
    1. The gist of the email circulating was whether it was written by Ms. Swirsky. On that part, it is true; however, I also wrote that there was an entry that was questionable as far as what she wrote about Barack Obama.
    2. The paragraph you transcribed are not MY words, and I would never write those words because they are emotionally and/or politically initiated. In the case of Frank Marshall Davis, I defended him in the question of him being a racist, a prime example being married to a white woman. If I had wrote this article I would not have described “Frank” described in Obama’s book as a mentor, but instead a sort of role model he looked up to. The list of other influential people in the article, which you totally ignored do however have substance in the evaluation of the character of a person who ran for president and then became president. My warnings to the American voter concerning Barack Obama was not based upon Mr. Davis’ relationship with Barry.
    3. Yes, Mr. Davis did self confess to pedophile accusation. It was not in the forward of the mentioned book, but in his papers concerning his unfinished autobiography discovered posthumously – you must have missed that in this article and when you researched. I might mention that your research is well done except for the fact it is politically bias, bringing forth truths and ignoring other truths, which is usually the unobjective practices of today’s journalistic world. And as far as his pornography, he used a pseudo name for obvious reasons, and I personally believe just did to make some extra money. The gist of the article is a description of the background of Barack’s dysfunctional family life, which is all too common in the African American culture/community. This is just an educated observation, pointing to a problem that has filtered out into other ethnic cultures that make up America, including Caucasian families. The family unit has become weak, and thus weakens a nation. This can be addressed, after recognizing it, and resolved if people in America truly believe it should be addressed. Children of all nations are the cornerstone and the strength that continues that nation to be successful and long-lived. Children are too often victims of adults. To me, the story of Barack’s childhood is sad; however, his adult life clearly indicates that his associations and affiliations clearly demonstrate his character and political ideology. Association is not the only factor pointing to Obama’s socialism, his policies since becoming president (already professed in a lesser degree as a candidate) requires no admission from Barack himself. His hypocrisy is also clearly demonstrated via his actions – previously demonizing during his campaign and his short senatorial tenure against the 43rd President of the United States. Which makes me wonder if you were just as zealous about the wrongful accusations against GW Bush as you are concerning Barack Obama’s own receiving end of unsubstantiated attacks.
    4. You confuse memoir with foreword entries in books of fiction (or non-fiction). A foreword is an introductory or a side note concerning background of a book, in this case a novel. I did not pinpoint or back up J. Swirsky’s claim based upon that particular point of discussion. In an autobiography, a foreword would be different than like found in a novel, usually a disclaimer stating that the characters are fiction to prevent someone suing an author for using real characters for whatever reason. Most often novels have a foundation upon either real circumstances to a certain degree or sometimes people the author had contact with in their life, names changed for obvious reasons. The DaVinci book used as an example is not relevant. It is an entirely different type of literature – it is a “what if” novel and whose story is more like a detective/mystery novel revolving around true historical accounts and events, and speculation by scholars and historians. The same with Mark Twain, who was a satirist and enjoyed a good tale. You are incorrect about Huckleberry Finn novel, along with Tom Sawyer, it was based upon certain experiences of Samuel Clemens he experienced or had come in contact with as a child, revolving around fictitious characters. Did Indian Joe really exist? Was there a character in Clemens’ childhood that helped him create the personae of Indian Joe? Those examples do not match the discussion of pornography, which could be based upon real experiences or just fantasies imagined by the author, as Derrick, the extreme leftist author of articles published in Penthouse erotic magazines – whose link I provided.
    5. I agree with you, as I stated in this article, and which although you are not clear, I am assuming you are writing against what Joan Swirsky wrote and not my evaluation. I agree with you that Frank fell short of being defined a mentor; I did not emphasize this in the article.
    6. Another mention that I did not provide in detail is that Mr. Davis was respected peer in the field of literature, and his racism is questionable as described by Joan in her article because he loved and married a Caucasian woman. Indeed when trying to reconcile with her he wrote a beautiful poem found in the Wikipedia entry that I linked to:
“I shall make you part of me,
    My darling.
    Fundamental as heart
    Primary as mind
And to you I shall become
As the blood in your veins”
This prose clearly demonstrates the love for his ex-wife, Helen, as well as his literary qualities.
    7. Your source link to Wikipedia’s first-person narrative is a dead end. Your link to memoirs does not address forewords, as mentioned previously. Your opinion is based upon the concept of fictional characters being or not being fiction based upon truth. It was only circumstantial evidence until Mr. Davis’ notes found after his death were revealed. Condemnation of Mr. Davis in this respect is moot.
    8. FBI records on Davis are available to public record. It was his affiliations and associations that produced questions. I discarded Mr. Davis’ association because there was a question of just how much influence was directed to Barack Obama; however, the long list of his associates, whom Barack quickly denounces every time any of them finally get caught in their unscrupulous, scandalous and criminal affairs immediately points guilt on not only his character but his decision as to whom he associates with. Just the fact that his political handler is the notorious Chicago Political Machine, as well as financial backers like the notorious George Soros is condemnation in itself. A person is often righteously condemned by their association, and certainly condemned for affiliation. In the case of Davis, the condemnation that he was a socialist and associated with communist entities and individuals is not false. This analysis of mine stands. Mr. Davis was a communist sympathizer and as far as political ideology a socialist based upon, not just his affiliations, but his writing of the subject, as seen by the source links and entries of the bibliography.
    9. Barack Obama, during his campaign alone, was clearly found to be a prevaricator on three occasions. He also contradicted himself several times. There is no doubt that Obama is a good manipulator. His followers stand up for his inexperience in the field of political science, yet quickly denounces opponents with character (Alan Keyes, for example) for the same premise. This is off the subject, but it is based upon your link sources. It is true that exaggeration is within what Swirsky wrote and that she uses her background in psychoanalysis to examine the inner workings of the 44th President. If Barack was a Republican or of any political entity other than the DNC – I and the readers here would not have be reading any commentary such as this from you. Therefore, members of both traditional political entities tend to exaggerate or become emotionally/politically charged on discussions; however, the long record of corruption and the staining of true liberalism fall completely upon the DNC. Its long history of affiliation and support by trade and labor unions who are clearly filled with socialists and communists, as well as organized crime figures being a major part of this – one would think that the DNC would remove its support of such entities, a phenomenon that has outlived not only its original purpose, but has become a major factor in the destruction of America’s economic structure – money and power being the prime agenda and not the problems of the blue collar workers of America.
    10. I agree with you that the National Enquirer would not be a good choice/source in presenting any material for discussion or proof in the pudding.
And finally, Joan Swirsky is correct in all else except for the questionable statements made concerning Frank Marshall Davis. The statement “that white people were the devil incarnate and that blacks were the most victimized people on earth”, the first being unjust and the second victimization part could be true or no. I never had a personal discussion with Davis; however an interview is linked within the article. Mr. Davis should be commended for becoming successful during a period of history when African Americans were truly mistreated and not often afforded opportunities to success in life. Tragedies such as this as that can be found across the spectrum of human history, and those travesties are not always based upon skin pigmentation.
PS – Brown (DaVinci Code) did not misrepresent the Roman Catholic Church in respect to its long history of scandals, repression and plainly cruel doctrine and policies; combined with hypocrisy of the clergy and the papal hierarchy. See my article in archives on this subject – soon a critique on the second film based upon the same author’s second book.
If Obama is not a Marxist and socialist (definitely a sociocrat) – then why are his policies and actions of his seat of power right from the manifesto? You are not being objective in this matter.
Thanks Mark (?) for your shared thoughts and professional rebuttal. Maybe we can agree sometime in the future. I appreciate you taking the time to present your opinion and disagreement.

  4. Thanks for your response. Please note that I am exclusively concerned with misrepresentation regarding the Obama-Davis relationship, and not Obama’s other relationships.

Davis was not a pedophile, and he did not confess to anything of the sort. The claim regarding his pedophilia confession being in “his papers concerning his unfinished autobiography discovered posthumously” is totally untrue. His autobiography WAS finished and published. It is called “Livin’ The Blues” (see http://books.google.com/books?id=BabHjAEzkdwC&dq=frank+marshall+davis&source=gbs_navlinks_s).

His “papers” confirmed that he wrote “Sex Rebel: Black,” not pedophilia. I await primary source evidence to support this claim, which is the same sort of fabricated disinformation as most of the political accusations against him spearheaded by Cliff Kincaid’s “Accuracy In Media.”

The AIM disinformation campaign consisted of a series of small lies fabricated to support the big lie that “His values, passed on to Obama, were those of a communist agent who pledged allegiance to Stalin” (see http://www.aim.org/aim-column/media-excuse-obamas-false-advertising). A painstakingly documented analysis of Kincaid’s falsehoods is posted as “specific misrepresentation” at http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/Kaleokualoha/gGxdvX. I invite any person of integrity to refute my evidence against this body of lies. If he had authentic evidence of Davis’s radical influence, he would not need to fabricate such evidence.

  5. Frank Marshall Davis wrote a pornographic novel under the pseudonym Bob Greene, one chapter of which is devoted to the protagonist and his wife having sex with a thirteen year old girl, according to a British website (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/barackobama/2601914/Frank-Marshall-Davis-alleged-Communist-was-early-influence-on-Barack-Obama.html) on 24 August.

According to the British website, “Mr. Davis (writing as Greene) explains that although he has “changed names and identities…all incidents I have described have been taken from actual experiences.” Please note that the fictional character Bob Greene, not Davis, alleges that incidents were taken from actual experiences.

In a same day report citing the British website, “Accuracy In Media” (AIM) reported that Edgar Tidwell, an “expert in the life and writing of Davis” confirms that Frank Marshall Davis wrote “Sex Rebel: Black” as a semi-autobiographical novel. Despite Tidwell’s expert opinion that the novel was SEMI-autobiographical, AIM’s Cliff Kincaid escalated accusations against Davis by first claiming he was a sex pervert (http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-red-mentor-was-a-pervert/) in their 24 August report. (Kincaid falsely attributed the “pervert” claim to the British website.) On 14 October, AIM again escalated the charges by claiming Davis was an “admitted child molester” (http://www.aim.org/aim-column/was-a-communist-obamas-sex-teacher/).

Here is an extract of the original article:

    [QUOTE]
In a surviving portion of an autobiographical manuscript, Mr Davis confirms that he was the author of Sex Rebel: Black after a reader had noticed the “similarities in style and phraseology” between the pornographic work and his poetry.

“I could not then truthfully deny that this book, which came out in 1968 as a Greenleaf Classic, was mine.” In the introduction to Sex Rebel, Mr Davis (writing as Greene) explains that although he has “changed names and identities…all incidents I have described have been taken from actual experiences”.

  6. Good point, Mark …
I do not believe that Mr. Davis was as perverted as they painted him to be and since it is unknown just how much time was spent with Barack, even the relationship should not even be considered; however, he left some sort of impression on Barack because of what he wrote in his autobiography. I do agree that only a narcissist would write an autobiography at the age of 45, unless it was a book concerning personal experiences. Nothing would be thought of, for example, if he wrote an autobiography after his time as president was over – but most presidents have just worked with interested parties who desired to write a biography. Nixon wrote memoirs because he wanted to relate his side of the story of his presidency.

AIM is off the mark when they refer to Mr. Davis as a child molestor and I feel they are certainly dwelling upon this one character in Barack’s life too much when other associates and affiliates in his life prove to be more sinister and echo the analysis of the personal character of one Barack Hussein Obama. I think he has been scared from his dysfunctional family situation and any negative racist circumstances and events that may have occurred having parental cross-ethnic origins.
So, we can agree that the chain email that is circulating was written by Joan Swirsky, the gist of the Myth Blaster entry, and also agree that Mr. Davis has been treated unfairly in accusations caused by circumstantial events and surface oriented allegations. The rest, however, is truth. B. Obama has been groomed for the instrument in furthering their agenda. It would be so like justice if Mr. Obama would make a turn-around and demonstrate to his handlers that as they used him for their personal agenda and gain, so now should he show that he used them to get where he wanted to be. Representing the African American descendants and becoming a better role model, turning to being a constitutional president and creating true reform (“change”). The mob made a deal with Joseph Kennedy that they would use their influence and the power of the Chicago political machine to get his son, Jack, a seat in the Oval Office. But when JFK and brother, Bobby, assumed their positions to perform their duties as President of the United States and US Federal Attorney, they rightously set out on a crusade to weaken and possibly destroy organized crime. This should have been the theme for the Obama administration, but in order to do so he would have to fire just about everyone in his cabinet, as well as replace the chiefs of the bureaucratic offices, probably beginning with the Secretary of Treasury. Of course, I am just dreaming when it comes to this situation.

  7. Mark (?) …
Please note that you do not understand the gist of what Myth Blaster, specifically this article was about – plus you are echoing pretty much what I wrote and then demanding that I produce more sources than I have. Most likely you never read one of the sources, Obama Nation, and judging from your petty argument you haven’t check the sources that actually show the papers existed. The “papers” were not the manuscript for the book, first of all and secondly I do not find enough evidence to justly call Mr. Davis, who is deceased and not able to speak for himself, a pedophile, child molester or sexual pervert.
Most importantly, you are arguing with someone who didn’t write the “Obama Revenge” article, and if you wish to do so – THAT link was provided as well.
And, obviously you are a sociocrat because you are not paying attention and ignoring the fact that ALL the other allegations were true, minus the portion of Mr. Davis. His associations and affiliations brought out during his campaign was enough for the American people to be wary of electing him; and now that he is President of the United States the forewarned socialist policies are in full force.
True, that too is an argument aside from the gist of this Myth Blaster entry. There are more articles here under varied subject categories and Myth Blaster is only a portion of this e-journal. And that is exactly what this is – an e-journal in the blog format, for I do not like to narrow down my subject material because my interests are wide and varied. Above all, as the motto goes here, truth is ultimately important – and objectivity in this citizen journalistic endeavor.
Another thing: I never used AIM in any of my links, so if you have a beef with AIM deal with them directly. You have already stated more than once of an invitation to refute what you are writing, yet the very sources provided and the links that are within those sources have already refuted the matter concerning the “papers”. Even the affidavit/report from the FBI can be found. You are engaging in a rebuttal and expect me to do your homework for you. How does that go.
Slander is not part of anything I write here; however anything negative or portraying a party’s character is justified and backed up. So the Abraham Lincoln quote just doesn’t get it, and in fact maybe you should heed those words yourself.
You liberal-sociocrats just won’t let something go once it has been discussed – not until someone bends to your point of view and your methods of misinformation. Giving in just to end a pointless argument will not happen here.
And one side note: if Mr. Davis wasn’t ashamed of what he was writing in respect to pornography, why would he us a different name? Still, even that question doesn’t make or did make Mr. Davis a pedophile or a sexual pervert. However, in some eyes or mind of people he would because of the perversion he had taken in his novels of pornography.
LP Journal is not responsible what AIM writes, in fact, even guest writers who write here have disclaimers in the fact that I may or may not agree with all or any portion of what they write. For all I know, Mr. Davis had a split personality. That is not relevant in discussing the associations and personal character and political/criminal ideology and affiliations of Barack Hussein Obama.
    End of story.

  8. Liberal-Republican …
Thanks for your accolade and that is my endeavor in anything I write here, whether it be about history, political science, science, whatever.
This was a challenging article because of the time consumption of gleaning facts from a myriad of what was written and then checking the sources of those writing about it.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Looking forward for future thoughts and commentary from you.

  9. In all fairness, Mr Davis’s sexual proclivities are such a small part of the story that I wonder why they have received so much attention in the blogosphere.

As so much better stated by authors here (and many other venues), President Obama has SO many other chinks in his armor that our objections to his candidacy were marginalized as more “sanctimonious rantings by the religious right.”

One of the challenges I see in moving the GOP from a pup tent to the “Big Top,”is our inability to quit being the “Morals Police.” This is a challenge because it is difficult to reconcile the core values as proposed by the founding fathers and the current moral culture of the American population but THAT should be the subject of another post!

    Comment by librepublican | July 12, 2009

  10. Oh Keith, I liked your comment on “What if Obama really did the right thing” and used the Kennedys as an example. I have wondered that myself and postulated that in other places. I believe many people were so anti-Bush that they just voted against McCain and HOPED that Obama would lead from the middle as many believe that Clinton did.

Pres Obama is a talanted speaker and communicates a vision of what we would all like to see. Unfortunately, he talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk!

    Comment by librepublican | July 12, 2009

  11. The arguments here are nothing but distractions from the fact that we have an unqualified, traitor serving as the U.S. President.

Referring to Obama as “African American” is an insult to the true African Americans who descend from the African slaves who helped build this nation.

Mr. Obama’s only African heritage is from his great, great, great grandmother who married a Arabian slave trader and their descendants who continued the trade.

Obama descends, not from African slaves, but from the slave traders who kidnapped Africans and sold them into slavery. Rightfully proud descendants of African slaves deserve to be irate. They have been used.

    Comment by JAI | July 12, 2009

  12. JAI:
Thanks for sharing your opinion …
You seem to be distracted concerning history and Mr. Obama’s heritage, which your opinion is a distraction concerning the gist of this article. Mr. Obama’s father was an African. An African American DOES NOT equate to someone whose ancestors were slaves. There are African immigrants who are not American citizens from various nations of the African continent.
In one minute you denounce that Obama is a descendent from slave traders and then relates your professed fact that Barack’s African “great, great, great grandmother who married a[n] Arabian slave trader …”
Descendants of any type of slavery deserve to be “irate” concerning that subject material – especially since slavery in various forms continues today. However, no one today have been a slave or are there former slave owners in America. The primary problem and instigation of racism in America today, specifically coming from the ethnic group discussed stems on the fact that they are victims. Apparently you overlooked the recent article previous to this one concerning a gang of “black” teenagers who attacked a “white” family enjoying the Independence Day festivities with racial remarks and fists – just because they had lighter skin pigmentation and represented the ethnic group that they have grown to hate – unjustly and just as wrong as hating all members of an ethnic group because of the negative experience with one or two individuals.
But all this offbeat diatribe is distracting me …

McCain was a poor choice to represent grassroot conservative America, as I wrote during Election 2008 and explained why.
Adolph Hitler was a talented speaker and communicator of vision as well, and he led his nation to destruction and strapped with the guilt of the murder of millions.
I probably will receive an onslaught of hate email and leftist commentary for saying it, but you get my point. We are not learning from history and we are going to relive it by walking the same path on a different day.

Comment by Keith Lehman | July 12, 2009

  14. LR:
Agreed. There are exaggerators in the camp of the political “right” as well.
I don’t want to see the GOP moved to the Big Top – I want it to be torn down and rebuilt. I want to see independents and legitimate third parties to provide competition to the traditional two party monopoly. They had their chance to reform and do so voluntarily, it is time for them to pay the piper.
The Constitution Party has “core values” but instills too much religious doctrine in their political platform (see my five-part analysis); but I was so disgusted with choosing the lesser evil in presidential elections I voted straight Constitution Party.
Moral values are important, just as the family core keeps a nation on course. We need limited government and the other principles to return to the forefront of the policies and ideology of those we elect. American voters need to educate themselves and be as responsible and carefully choose candidates as they would when purchasing a home. Government, the people who operate it, have a definite impact upon the lives of its citizenry, and if its citizenry expects results they must put political party affiliation to the back burner and focus on the candidate running. It is the American voter, the American citizen who must make the first move and initiate the progress towards true reformation and the return to the Founder’s concept of the republic for which they worked so hard, carefully constructed and sacrificed so much to achieve. It is citizens like the 56 men who founded our nation that should make us proud and provide us with role models, not the likes of Mr. Obama and his associates. Like I stated often before, if it was so important to have an African American for a president, which could be the goal of any such person with character and love of his nation, than Alan Keyes was a far better choice. Frankly, it matters not to me whether a candidate for any elected office is man, woman, dark pigmentation or an albino; an American of any of the ethnic people who are citizens of the United States as long as they have principle, character and understand how our country was founded, why it became so great, and how to keep it that way.
Thanks LR for taking the time to discuss this. Yes, the American culture would be a good topic.
