Govt Watch-Myth Blaster: Obama Files – Science Czar Environmental Extremist

If you have been getting email with the following information about John Holdren, a member of the Obama administration cabinet advisory staff for the President of the United States for Barack Hussein Obama, you may be wondering if this is just a myth. …

JohnHoldenForced abortion. Mass sterilization. A “Planetary Regime” with the power of life and death over American citizens.
The tyrannical fantasies of a madman? Or merely the opinions of the person now in control of science policy in the United States? Or both?
These ideas (among many other equally horrifying recommendations) were put forth by John Holdren, whom Barack Obama has recently appointed Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology — informally known as the United States’ Science Czar. In a book Holdren co-authored in 1977, the man now firmly in control of science policy in this country wrote that:
• Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;
• The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation’s drinking water or in food;
• Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
• People who “contribute to social deterioration” (i.e. undesirables) “can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility” — in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
• A transnational “Planetary Regime” should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives — using an armed international police force.
Impossible, you say? That must be an exaggeration or a hoax. No one in their right mind would say such things.
Well, I hate to break the news to you, but it is no hoax, no exaggeration. John Holdren really did say those things, and this report contains the proof. Below you will find photographs, scans, and transcriptions of pages in the book Ecoscience, co-authored in 1977 by John Holdren and his close colleagues Paul Ehrlich and Anne Ehrlich. The scans and photos are provided to supply conclusive evidence that the words attributed to Holdren are unaltered and accurately transcribed

Myth Blaster Verdict:

Truth – and substantiated.

A prime example of Obama’s poor choice picks of those who are operating within our government, I present to you John Holdren, Science Czar of the United States government.

Other than his academic record, Mr. Holdren’s personal life history is not available at this time, however a Wikipedia entry reveals …

Holdren earned a bachelor’s degree from MIT in 1965 and a PhD in plasma physics[3] from Stanford University in 1970. He taught at the University of California, Berkeley for more than two decades. His work has focused on global environmental change, energy technologies and policies, nuclear proliferation, and science and technology policy[4]. Dr. Holdren served as chairman of the board of directors of the American Association for the Advancement of Science from February 2007 until February 2008[5](AAAS) and is director of the Woods Hole Research Center.
Dr. Holdren is the author of some 300 articles and papers[citation needed], and he has co-authored and co-edited some 20 books and book-length reports, such as Energy (1971), Human Ecology (1973), Ecoscience (1977), Energy in Transition (1980), Earth and the Human Future (1986), Strategic Defences and the Future of the Arms Race (1987), Building Global Security Through Cooperation (1990), Conversion of Military R&D (1998), and Ending the Energy Stalemate (2004). Holdren opposes the use of nuclear weapons to respond to chemical and biological attacks on Americans [6][7]
He was the founding chair of the advisory board for Innovations, a quarterly journal about entrepreneurial solutions to global challenges published by MIT Press.
He was unanimously confirmed as Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisers on Science and Technology on March 20, 2009.[8]
In 1969, writing with Paul R. Ehrlich, Holdren claimed that, “if the population control measures are not initiated immediately, and effectively, all the technology man can bring to bear will not fend off the misery to come.”[9] In 1973 Holdren encouraged a decline in fertility to well below replacement in the United States, because “210 million now is too many and 280 million in 2040 is likely to be much too many”[10]. Currently, the U.S. population is 306,884,000[11].
Holdren has written and lectured extensively on the topic of climate change. In 1969 he advocated (with Paul R Ehrlich) substantial spending for expansion of nuclear power on the grounds that nuclear plants generate electricity without greenhouse gas emissions.[9] In 2006, Holdren reportedly suggested that global sea levels could rise by 13 feet by the end of this century[12]. (The IPCC Fourth Assessment Report (2007) suggests a potential sea level rise over the same interval on the order 13 inches[citation needed]).
Holdren received worldwide[citation needed] coverage in the news after it has been found that he co-authored a book in 1977 that advanced such controversial birth control methods as mass sterilization through drugs in the water supply and sterilization of criminals. He also wrote that a planetary regime should control the global economy and dictate by force the number of children allowed to be born and that “The first step necessarily involves partial surrender of sovereignty to an international organization” “If this could be accomplished, security might be provided by an armed international organization, a global analogue of a police force
.” . [13].

In an interview with Science Magazine, Mr. Holdren thinks that new nuclear weapons are not necessary and that after the retirement of the US space shuttle in 2010 that is was likely to be replaced and that shuttling astronauts to the international space station will be performed in a Chinese space vehicle. Science Magazine by Jeffrey Mervis:

He shared his concerns that reporting requirements for spending stimulus money could shackle U.S. scientists. And he lamented the recent decision by the Texas state school board to modify science standards win ways that might undermine the teaching of evolution, warning that it was a “step backwards.”

Michelle Malkin wrote:

Looks like Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg isn’t the only one who’s been channeling abortion champion/eugenicist Margaret Sanger. Internet sleuth Zombie has a new report on John Holdren, President Obama’s science czar

Front Page Magazine:

When Barack Obama nominated John P. Holdren as his Science Adviser last December 20, the president-elect stated “promoting science isn’t just about providing resources” but “ensuring that facts and evidence are never twisted or obscured by politics or ideology.” In nominating John Holdren, his words could scarcely have taken a more Orwellian ring.

Forbes:

President Barack Obama has nominated a Green Dream Team to guide the implementation of his ambitious climate and energy policies. John Holdren, a fierce ideological environmentalist, will be the leader of this team as the assistant to the president for science and technology and director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. … In his salad days, Holdren was a fully paid-up member of The Limits to Growth club. For example, in his 1971 Sierra Club book, Energy: A Crisis in Power, Holdren declared that “it is fair to conclude that under almost any assumptions, the supplies of crude petroleum and natural gas are severely limited. … In keeping with his dogmatic limits-to-growth convictions, Holdren joined his frequent co-author, eco-doomster Paul Ehrlich, in a famous bet against cornucopian economist Julian Simon. … Despite his early peak-oil proclivities, Holdren did acknowledge in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists back in 1975 that “civilization is not running out of energy, but it is running out of cheap energy.” … Unfortunately, Holdren doesn’t appear to have an adequate understanding of the economic process through which these technological advances are achieved. He seems to think new technologies arise full-blown from government agencies and university laboratories.
Holdren early on exhibited an unlovely tendency to try to enforce ideological conformity on his fellow scientists and activists. Back in 1972, he and Ehrlich disagreed with environmentalist Barry Commoner on whether population or technology was worse for environment. This dispute exploded into the public when Commoner disclosed a letter Ehrlich and Holdren had sent to numerous scientific colleagues revealing that the two had pressed Commoner not to debate in public which of the factors was most important because that would undermine the realization of environmental goals. Commoner was outraged that the two wanted to shut down debate and enforce an environmentally correct united front. …
When President Obama nominated Holdren, he declared, “The truth is that promoting science isn’t just about providing resources – it’s about protecting free and open inquiry. It’s about ensuring that facts and evidence are never twisted or obscured by politics or ideology.”
Unfortunately, Holdren’s record is far from reassuring on that score.

The truth is that” –

Holdren is an example of what has become of the academic world of higher learning institutions in America (and Europe). Politics and ideology HAS taken over the world of science and open mindedness with objectivity in searching for solutions to problems, answers to questions and intellectual discussion has been taken over by the politically correct. A theory concerning climate change called global warming begins with false data received from a misinterpreting computer module. A career politician interested in science suddenly becomes an expert after reading books like Holdren writes and suddenly the theory becomes consensus and discussion is no longer the option because it is hard truth. Then the realization that in an attempt to control global climate, there is an investors gold mine involved, and schemers and charlatans from various nations of the world get together with the preacher of doom, Al Gore and soon the cap-and-trade becomes not something to solve supposed environmental problems, but a trillion dollar business that will make Gore and friends wealthier than they are. Meanwhile, Gore and the like tell the populace that to save the planet they must reduce their standards of living and face the fact that energy is going to cost them more and more and more – with the inept help of government intervention, shoddy legislation and unscrupulous lobbyists, as well as brain dead politicians who wouldn’t know an atom from a neutron.

The sociocrats tell us that crude oil is a bad energy medium and at the same time complain and point fingers at the corporations and oil corporations for making gasoline and diesel fuel prices skyrocket and remain at all-time highs. The populace is told that their driving habits are to blame, as well as the choice of vehicles they drive. Meanwhile the elite of the sociocrats continue to drive their gas guzzlers, live in homes that suck up as much energy in one month that an average American consumes in one year. Their theme is: “Don’t do as I do, do as I say”. In steps the sociocrats who insist that government intervention is the answer and nationalist fascism in respect to government-controlled private industry can be the only solution. The GOP entity is not off the hook in this respect, but the political left that had condemned such policies/ideologies in the previous administration is not only equaling that program, but surpassing it making government more a Big Brother than ever before.

The sociocrats hail people like Holdren as geniuses and instrumental nobles of the elite that will save the world and save humans from themselves, all the while deterring any common sense response to all that is going on. It doesn’t matter that the actual temperature readings across the globe show temp changes below one degree over the course of one year and still remain less than one degree over the course of ten years. Sociocrats don’t always just lie to get their way, they hold back and suppress portions of any information and facts that may be not only different but show that they are following the scheme of junk science. They disregard facts like – if America needs to be self sufficient in their energy needs, why does the environmentalist extremists allow drilling offshore and places that show promise of increased crude oil production within the United States? Why does our leadership continue to allow OPEC to use the crude oil card as a tool against America and Europe? Why are we financing Middle Eastern and Near Asia nations that are pro-Islamic fascists? Why is the American and European sociocrats playing along with them, instead of eradicating them? Harvard may hail their prodigy for being anointed the Science Czar of the Obama Nation, but he merely represents another stepping stone to the Big Brother government that power-seeking individuals and organizations are striving for.

Mr. Holdren is a fanatic concerning population control, yet goes along with the Obama plan of keeping illegal immigrants here under the umbrella of a form of amnesty, whether named that or not, in the sense of legislation that will also increase the flock of the sociocrat sheep. Once again, the Republican Party is not off the hook on this matter either. The Obama administration has an array of czars that will help orchestrate the long-term plans of removing the democratic republic founded by 56 men and replacing it with a socialist entity no longer recognizable as a republic. America owes China money. China has infiltrated America with their substandard products, immune to safety requirements that US manufacturers are forced to comply with within the confines of the safety and welfare bureaucracy czars. This and the past US administrations have ignored the fact that China uses slave labor. While focusing on other aggressive and rogue nations, our government ignores the fact that China is intent to bring America to its knees and control Europe economically. We relinquished strategic control of the Panama Canal – true, it was built in a sovereign nation who should be in control, but now, thanks to Jimmy Carter, it is in control of China like the major crude oil industry is overseen by sheiks and socialist/fascist dictators in Central and South America. Now we have a Science Czar who says our astronauts will be catching rides to the space station in a Chinese space shuttle because we cannot afford to continue our own space program. Maybe the Libertarians have a point – maybe it is time to quit sending troops to fight others battles, because we could use that funding to boost our endeavors by NASA and university laboratories to push into the new frontier of space. JFK saw this in his visions of America, thus his theme being the New Frontier, in a time period of American history that put science separate from political ideology and universities and colleges were still institutions of higher learning. JFK didn’t believe in taxing people to death instead of fiscal budget responsibility. He asked the people to put their country first, which meant the people of the nation, not its government were the key to success and America’s interests came before any other; but he didn’t ask the people to sacrifice while those in Washington, DC didn’t. He stood solid and straight with the leadership required against aggressive communist nations, and stood toe-to-toe against the Cold War mentality of Soviet Union agenda of spreading communism around the world. He respected foreign leadership, but didn’t coddle them. When confronted with aggression, he didn’t visit nations to apologize for America’s mistakes. John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Jr. was the last good member of the Democratic Party, despite the background of his father, Joseph Kennedy and the reputation as a bad boy, brother, Teddy Kennedy - mentor of sociocrat John Kerry. Controlled classical liberalism was alive then, with a tint of conservatism to keep in line with constitutional law. In personal life, he may have been a playboy type behind the scenes, but he never degraded his position or misused the Oval Office as a scene from a pornographic novel. JFK promoted and initiated the ideology of classical ancient Greece in that a strong mind must be supported by a strong body – promoting a national sense of athletics and physical well being. JFK initiated and founded the US Special Forces unit, designed to help people of other nations and become an instrument to combat the birth of terrorism and anarchy orchestrated by the Soviet Union and their insurgency/terrorist schools a tool to spread communism. JFK was a dreamer, but he also faced world problems with facts of reality and never weakened in the face of the enemy of free nations. He believed and endeavored to tear the Berlin Wall down, knowing that it should not have been allowed to be built in the first place, endearing himself to the German people. It would take the personae of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher to realize the dream JFK had in that endeavor. Once upon a time in America, the Democratic Party lived the role of being the working class friend, but then instead of being a tool of providing safe and fair trade and labor practices, the trade and labor unions became no longer a helpful tool for the working class, but a powerful entity that bought out politicians and now own them. The Obama administration has taken a step further and made the Union a controlling factor in the auto industry, just as the Federal Reserve Bank System has become the controlling factor over private sector financial and investment institutions. The fault there cannot be entirely blamed on the Democratic Party either.

And, so, you may say – How could this happen? For that, I have a simple answer …

Americans have forgotten, indeed ignored the words of the founding members of our nation who wrote an after-action report of sorts in the form of the Federalist Papers. The US Constitution has become a pliable document for the agenda of those who use it only when it fits within their ideologies, policies and plans – and when they can “interpret” it in their favor. The judicial system is a tool in which if they cannot pass legislation, they will instill a ruling that will change the law and policies from the judicial bench. The warning from the Founders was that it was up to the People to ensure that those governing were doing what they were elected to do, and Benjamin Franklin saw that it was a good republic based upon a strong foundation as long as the People ensured it would remain so.

So if you are looking for the gist of the blame of all that has been leading to this era of “Change We Can Believe In” – look in the mirror.
