Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your service to your country and your continued support of our nation. I often feel like writing or stating to those Americans who do not support their own country, specifically America, the same thing you wrote that one could see from time to time in a form of a bumper sticker: AMERICA: LOVE HER OR LEAVE HER. But here, of course, the freedom of speech applies (as long as it is not offensive rhetoric). However, one wonders how some Americans can enjoy the fruits of others in their labor to protect and preserve America's Constitution, its heritage, and its history; and yet take sides with those who are against their own nation. This does not mean that just because we disagree or take action against those serving in office for their transgressions against the Constitution that we are not patriots - it means that we truly believe in protecting the Constitution and the American way of life provided by men we call the Founders. Of course, one does not have to have served in the military to be a patriot, it only takes a bit of patriotism and ensure that one arms oneself with knowledge so they can vote smartly and support those who decided to serve (as a career or otherwise) and be involved in the responsibilities of citizenship. As a former career soldier and fellow patriot, I salute you and thank you for your service to America. As a fellow patriot, I am thrilled to hear from another patriot. It has been a long time since I have seen those words “I will defend … from foreign and domestic enemies” - taken from the oath of a person enlisting or reenlisting in the US military.

I often feel like writing or stating to those Americans who do not support their own country, specifically America, the same thing you wrote that one could see from time to time in a form of a bumper sticker: AMERICA: LOVE HER OR LEAVE HER.

As much as we would like to believe that we are enlightened, and that we are far more sophisticated than the ages of the past we are not. In the end of it all we are a 2000 year old people, doomed to repeat and relive the past. the only thing that has changed about us and our decision making procces is technology. Broken down to the basics, our brains only operate on two levels. Avoiding pain, and gaining pleasure. The comment that the death penalty is not a deterant, could only be related to the fact that we never actually use it. When a convicted murderer is finaly put to death he or she is usually of old age, their crime long scince past, and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who could recall thier actions, other than the victim, and thier families. We all would love to believe that there is a better way, that as a society we should be able to develope and grow. But beware, I quote "beware those who seeketh the truth, For there is no comfort in the truth." . The fact of the matter is not everyone shares our values. Their convictions and their beliefs that they are correct and just in thier actions are every bit as strong as your own even as the two are on opposite sides of the spectrum. And most of all for your "misinformation" LOL There are military personell, civilian and enlisted in the intelligence community whos MOS (that would be their Job) is strictly to memorize and destroy military documentation. There are some things that the civilian world just has no business getting involved if not but for the sole reason that they cannot possibly fathom the reality of thier need for these actions. ( As for those of you Hollywood raised children that are fantisizing of someone memorizing the wrong thing, and the repercussion of that. It can't won't and will never happen. The documentation for this practice is fragmented and divided so that only a few could ever hope of finding all of the participating members and then you have to get it in the right order.
